Tasting notes: Light to medium bodied, soft fresh greens, light butter, lingering.
Grown at 1400 metres this Taiwanese oolong can be classed in the high mountain category. At this level growth is slower and yield lower but flavours become sweeter, more complex and prized.
The Woo Sher garden is a hand picked Spring tea made from the chin shin cultivar of the camellia sinensis tea plant.
The tightly rolled ball style oolong has been processed in a jade style (slightly more oxidised than green tea) with a golden tinge of light roasting.
The balls open to reveal two leaves and a bud.
Once brewed a light toasted umami aroma greets you, in the mouth it expresses smooth, soft enjoyable vegetal sweetness of spring greens rolled in with a light saltiness of herbed creamy butter. Flavours hinting of pineapple start to show lingering satisfyingly long after finishing.
Enjoy this oolong with multiple steeping.
